I'm curious if anyone has tried one of these recently released units:

It works with the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360

I'm specifically interested in using it to connect my PAL Wii to a CRT VGA monitor - are there likely to be any restrictions?

Presumably the Wii menu screen will still be displayed correctly, interlacing will be handled okay, etc. I'm guessing that it's simply doubling the horizontal rate from 15 to 30 KHz (or thereabouts).

Is the picture quality likely to be as good as, say, 'standard' RGB to a 15 KHz monitor?

Judging by the reviews on play asia it seems to be just a pass thru. Like 480i in on the component video side = 15khz rgb on the vga side. So if the pal wii will do progressive scan ur good to go otherwise its not going to work. Also everytime you convert video the picture get degraded slightly regardless especialy with cheap electronics so its not going to look as good.
