the neostore has a very good guide for modding the neo for svideo but they neglect to mention what transistor is used:

anyone know what it is?

anyone know of a similarly detailed guide for the genesis 1?

The search function on the GamesX forum is your friend. Have a look at this link, please:

In short, any old low-voltage NPN transistor seems to work. If you're really worried, buy the kit from the Neostore, which includes all the parts they use in their conversion service.

cool man thanks.

i looked through every displayed topic, i didnt realize there were old ones not being displayed.

wouldnt using different transistors change what resistors you should use to some extent?

it looks like jameco has the NTE85 so thats not a big deal, but the 2SC1317 detailed in the nes mod seems to be elusive.

guess ill be moddin the genesis and neo soon.

you ever get svid out of a 32x?

it's just a general purpose NPN so a different NPN (that's general purpose) will not change the values.  I've used the 2N555 and 2N3906 without problems for this mod.  Also, there is an improved schematic for this mod on my website.

Hey Segasonicfan,
I just jumped over to your site and I didn't see the nes2 mod listed.  Is it just a generic mod?  Just thought i would let you know.

I don't know anything about NES, but the schematic that's updated is the one in the aforementioned thread concerning pulling S-video out of the MB3514/CXA1145.  It's under the Genesis section.
