Hello,
I've had a 32x now for quite some time, but I've never owned a sega 32x game. Anyways, I bought one today and I took it home, cleaned it with rubbing alcohol (it's what I clean all my carts with) and then put it in.
The game turned on and everything else but here's the thing.
The 3D graphics are missing
I was wondering wtf is could be. Anyways, I know that since the game is practically new, and the rom itself booted up with the music and everything else (except the 3D graphics) I assumed that it was the system.

I was right. I opened it and some jack-ass tampered with it and has soldered crazy wires all over the place. WTF? Anyways, all I'm looking for is a picture of the inside of the 32x with a pic for both sides (top and bottom of mobo).
If anyone has any, please post up the pics  :(

P.S. Maybe the dumbass was trying to overclock it

It sounds like you haven't used the pass-through cable.  If you're not connecting the Genesis' RGB output to the 32X and getting the AV signal from the 32X' AV output port then you're only getting video from one system or the other.

The 32X acts as a mixer, it combines the video from the Genesis with the video from the 32X, creating a horrible new low in gaming technology.  Or something.

Well, I'm using a NES RF-Switch hook up for the genesis, and my genesis is overclocked (there's a switch so I can change from normal, to overclocked).

On the 32x I'm using this weird hook up that looks like a mouse port at the end, and then it plugs into it. There are two of these. I'm using the one that says A/V out (oviously) and it's also a RF-Switch. I have these two RF switches hooked up to each other. Maybe this isn't the right way to do it?

I don't know how to make it more clear:

AV out from Genesis -> AV in on 32X

AV out from 32X  ->  TV

For greater clarity, refer to the support page on sega.com for the 32x:

http://www.sega.com/support/supportsys.php...stems_other#32x

Vidgame.net has pictures from the manual, with detailed photos of all the components and the hookup points:

FYI the 32x motherboard is quite a mess, given that it was already an add-on peripheral. It's not likely that somebody attempted to modify any part of the internals. Hope that's helpful.

-KKC, who notes that Sega took down all their PDF downloads for old system manuals. Dammit.

omg, I'm an idiot. I see that problem now. Damn it, I don't have the right hook up for it. I'm going to have to see where I can buy the cable so that I can plug my genesis AV out into the 32x AV in.
<_<  does anyone know where I can get this? Thanx!

P.S. I'm going to look on eBay to see if I can find anything...

Sega has an independent subsidiary that sells off remaindered software and hardware from their console days. The relevant cord you need used to be available at this link:

http://www.sega-parts.com//products/32x-prices.htm

However, Sega Parts hasn't updated their web site in two years and has many items in stock that just aren't listed on the page. In your place I would e-mail them and ask for an updated list of items in stock. Sorry, I used to know the part number but it escapes me at the moment.

-KKC, prepping for the inevitably painful conversion to HDTV...

Thanx a lot, I appreciate it! ^_^
