DualShock2 calibration data

I'm trying to find the serial signal that is sent down the COMMAND line that automatically calibrates the PS2 controller in analogue mode turning on and toggling the red LED on start up on certain games.  I've already got a PIC chip plugged into a PS2 to emulate a controller in digital mode (5 bytes) and to some extent in analogue mode(21 bytes), but for games that are automatically assigned a mode, labelled on the game as analogue controllers only, an original PS2 DualShock2 controller must be inserted first for the PS2 to recognise it. Any help with the set up information would be much appreciated.
