this is new to me, i learned it today..
my ntsc rf-gen consoles dont work on my multistandard tv, this is because they suck, and while supporting a bunch of video formats, they dont allow for the different sound carriers used in rf signals, australia has a +5.5Mhz carrier, and ntsc has a +4.5.. this means i get to tune in either the sound OR the video..
i need a converter which will turn rf into composite.. does such a thing exist?
i know i could get a vcr for it, but im not even going to bother enquring about shipping on an ntsc vcr.

what are my options? i dont want to mod every console i have.. i'm a collector. plus theres going to come a time when ill have an ntsc rf-gen console which i cant mod anyway.

A lot of VCRs these days are multiformat too... don't know if they can support the different RF or not...

We've got one that can't play tapes anymore, was going to try to sell it to the local repair place... but if it might be useful to you, let me know.

Phreak,
The most realistic option is to just buy a broken (mechanical problem) video from the states. The new model videos dpn't weigh much at all and should be cheap to post via surface mail.

With the price of vcrs as it is, you'd probably have to pay them to take it :)

i might look into one from the us..
adeptus, my tv is multiformat, but it doesnt like the rf, because the position on the radio spectrum where the sound is transmitted is 1Mhz lower for the us.
