Title: Sharp IR3Y29B Pinout?
Post by: Segasonicfan on October 18, 2004, 02:21:59 PM
I've had absolutely no luck finding a datasheet for this very common chroma encoder IC.  It's used in the official Sony PSOne screen as well as US Case Logic/Initial Portable DVD Players.  If I have the pinout I can possibly use my 8" DVD player screen for an RGB monitor (since the chroma IC is seperated entirely from the DVD player).  If anyone knows of any place to find sharp IC datasheets please let me know.  I don't mind paying a little for them, but the only place I found a datasheet wanted $50 for a membership :/

Also, anyone know where I can buy an ECG-85 Transistor?  Just thought I'd ask.....

I believe this is what you're looking for.

Why is there a video/chroma encoder IC in the PSOne screen?

You buy EGC parts from your local ECG distributer....maybe ring up EGC and ask who that is. What's it for?

Thanks for the reply but I asked this question over 2 years ago ;) I have the datasheet and figured out how to input RGB into the circuit now.

Viletim- the video encoder in the PSOne screen is so people can use the composite input that the screen supports.

any chance you came across a datasheet for the sharp IR3Y26A during your search segasonicfan?

Sorry I did not.  I came across an IR3Y31 datasheet though.

how did you input rgb into the circuit?
i have a alpine 6.5 lcd that has the same chip on in and would like to
hook it up to my pc.

This is not about the IR3Y26A, the IR3Y29AM is a different chip.

@Segasonicfan Please do feel free to upload them to the file archive, or the wiki, or even your post here.  The first is preferred, so it's most easily found.
