Title: Clock speed and memory
Post by: squeeb on March 20, 2021, 03:23:19 PM
Hi all.  I'm considering taking the plunge, but I'm unsure on the specs.  Specifically, the relevance of clock speed with the majority of the game library.  Are the CPUs running @ 10MHz "good enough" or do the higher clocked versions have a tangible benefit on this platform?

Also, what is a good amount of memory to target?  Based on the gamesx faq it seems 2MB will get the job done.

Thanks!

When I had my X68 machines I found that I liked the XVI most because it looked the best, but it was the extra RAM, not speed, that made one machine better than another.  4MB+ at 10MHz is enough for most things, the rest is specific needs and bragging rights.
