Title: Converting to PRO
Post by: pmack on September 17, 2019, 04:57:45 AM
Hello all
I know some people will find this an heresy but here it goes anyway :-)

Would it be possible to convert a XVI to a PRO case? Basically, would it be possible to remove the boards from a XVI tower and lay them inside a PRO case in a workable way?

I do love the looks of the twin towers but PRO models are just sooo much easier to service... and I still want the 16Mhz mode so using an original PRO board is not optimal

Any ideas?

the PRO is basically an ACE with different connectors between the main and IO board. but why you would butcher a ~$1000 XVI is beyond my reasoning...

You could try buying a PRO and overclocking it
