Title: xbox (first model) -> arcade monitor 15khz connection
Post by: ellerre on October 31, 2015, 09:22:06 AM
Hello everyone!
I need help to connect my xbox (first model) to a 15 kHz arcade monitor.
In reference to this link: http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/xbox.htm (http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/xbox.htm), I just have to connect pins 17, 18 and 19 to 8 pin?
Thanks for your help and sorry for the question perhaps trivial, but I am new in this field.
Greetings.

That's correct, if you connect 17-19 to 8 it will enable 15kHz RGB.

Great, thanks for the answer.
So if I want to connect to the monitor with the pins as shown in the attached image I should plug everything in this way:

MON pin   ->   XBOX pin
B              ->   9
G              ->   11
R              ->   22
GND         ->   8
V              ->   4
H/C          ->   16

Is that correct?

I'm not going to verify you chose the right numbers, but you've got the right signals.  But in 15kHz RGB mode you only get C-sync, not H/V sync.

So there is the possibility that not work?

If your monitor relies on H&V sync, it won't work.  I don't think I've ever seen an arcade monitor that relied on H&V, so you're probably fine.  Time to wire it up and find out.  =)

OK, then I try to connect as shown in the diagram and see what happens ;)
Thanks again.
