Hi Guys !
This tutorial will explain how to convert RAW PC-98 HDD dump file to Anex86 HDI format. You will need the following things.
RobIvy64's and Caius's PC-98 HDD image v1 or v1.5
Anex86 HDI header file which is attached to this post.
HxD hex editor
http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ (http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/)
Foreword:
The attached header file needs RAW image with a fixed size of 1 215 287 296 bytes, otherwise it will not work. This was the closest size which I could get to the original 1 215 299 584 bytes.
The procedure:
Converting to Anex68 image
====================
Open "PC98HDDV1_5.ima" in HxD
Select "Search->Goto" and enter 486FCFFF
Select and delete everything that is after that offset
Open header in HxD, select all its contents with CTRL+A, press CTRL+C
Switch to "PC98HDDV1_5.ima", goto offset 0 and press CTRL+V
Make sure that RAW dump starts at offset #1000
Press CTRL+A and make sure that the length is 486FE000
Save the file as image.hdi
The "image.hdi" should now be recognised by DiskExplorer and Anex86
Converting to RAW dump
==================
Open "image.hdi" in HxD and delete the header at offset #0 - #FFF (4096 bytes)
P.S. Can anyone confirm if the 1 215 287 296 byte image, when transfered to physical media, is working ?

Yes, I already tried this Tool, very handy but it can't convert from RobIvy64 RAM image to a emulator usable format.
Listen, is there any PC-98 utility similar to X68000 2HDBOOT or 2HDSIM (to mount or load into memory disk images)?
Besides, is there no way to extract files from NON-DOS PC-98 disk images (like Galaga, Gaplus, Dragon Buster)?

Yes it can. Here is how to do it.
Open the image file (1215296497 bytes) in NHC, click next and select the following:
Solid starting point: 0
All sectors: 2373625
Sectors: 17
Heads: 8
Sectorsize: 512
Click "Next", select "ANEX86" or any other preferred format.
