I'd been thinking about this for a while. I don't know of anyone who has done the region free bios mod on a navi. Does anyone know if this would work?
This rings a really faint bell. If I remember correctly, the Navi BIOS has a couple of custom lines in it to accommodate a quick boot into the GPS software. So putting one of the standard region-free BIOS images into a Navi would naturally disable its ability to run the navigation disk in the expected way. I don't imagine that would be an issue for any current, western user of the system. I'll see if I can dig up the source to cite.

i'm going to eventually try to dump the bios off it and see if it can be modded, but man do i not want to be the one to test this....
