Title: What video out is the USA Intellivision capable of?
Post by: panzeroceania on March 03, 2012, 02:59:00 PM
I was wondering which A/V mods could be performed on a USA Intellivision

I see the RGB mod for the PAL version in the gamesx wiki but was wondering if that would also be possible on the USA units.

of course RGB would be preferable but I wasn't sure if it could be done.

RGB > Component > S Video > Composite, but any of those would be better than RF.

In any case, just curious if any of you guys had any information on the matter.

The machine uses a General Instruments AY-3-8915 for its composite video output.

Details here: http://console5.com/wiki/Intellivision (http://console5.com/wiki/Intellivision)

Someone has performed a composite mod: http://www.intellivision.us/video_mod/video_mod.php (http://www.intellivision.us/video_mod/video_mod.php)

Ghosting seems to be a problem however: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/154261-intellivision-video-mod-who-has-one/ (http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/154261-intellivision-video-mod-who-has-one/)
