Title: PAL Nintendo 64 S-video mod without resistors
Post by: nomoremod on February 29, 2012, 10:45:50 AM
I have surfed the forums to get my cable mod done but i noticed the picture is very dark when the 75 ohm resistors involved. When i use only the 220uf and 68nf capacitors then everything is perfect on my LG LCD TV.
Why every tutorial wants me to use 75 ohm resistors when it only makes the picture dark (compared to the official PAL composite cable). Have anyone else noticed this? Is it my TV or this model of N64 (EUR-001) is different?
Btw i have used 16V 220uf capacitors and not the usual 10V .
Just wondering, any idea?

Having the resistors gives a nice bright picutre on my Panasonic plasma, but I haven't seen it without them. Were they wired in series or parallel to the signal?
