Title: PC-8801 PC-9801 pinout
Post by: yukin on September 08, 2011, 11:37:07 AM
i already have a pc-8801 with a samsung monitor compatible with the computer. on the video cable from the monitor it have the first 6 pin and the 2 last used. i think the 6 first are the RGB + grounds and the 2 last horizontal and vertical sync.
i saw here the pinout for pc-9801: http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:japanese_rgb-15 (http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:japanese_rgb-15)
is someone know if i take a pc-9801, it will be compatible with my monitor?

AFAIK, the PC-88 uses the same pinout so it should be worth a try. Also keep in mind that the PC-88 only outputs 15 KHz or 24 KHz RGB, whereas the PC-98 outputs in 24 KHz or 31 KHz. I'm assuming your monitor supports 24 KHz RGB?

ok thanks. yeah my monitor is only 24khz. my pc-88 work perfectly but because the monitor is 24khz only the screen for the games at 15khz are small so it dont take the full screen.
