Title: X-Box VGA
Post by: Richter X on December 31, 2003, 08:42:33 AM
I know you can use the X2VGA to get VGA and Optical output from an XBOX, but it's only a Component->RGB transcoder. You can also perform a special mod on the XBOX using certain software to make the VGA signal work. Are there other methods? Which is cheaper?

Also: You know the special cables that CD/DVD-ROM drives use to send digital audio data to the sound card, right? Is there a way to convert an Optical cable to this connector?

Umm... as I understand it, only a few of the versions of xbox are about to be software modded to get vga, and then you have a mod chip installed, as it's a special bios (I could be talking out my ass here, btw.  Check www.xbox-scene.com).  X2vga is probably the way to go, atleast it's the way I'd go.
