Title: Please, I need PSX power suply schematic
Post by: Windows 98 on October 18, 2004, 02:44:55 AM
Hi all, this is my first post

Yeah, my PSX's power source got burned (some components, not fuse <_< ), but it has a lot of discrete components, so I can fix it ;)

But I need to know components' values (because they are "black" now), and I need that schematic. So help me If you know where I can get it.

Thanks.

This belongs in Info request not in controller tech. Also, if you try to repair your power supply you are just going to fry your ps2. Buy a new power supply: http://www.lik-sang.com/list.php?nav=over&category=132& (http://www.lik-sang.com/list.php?nav=over&category=132&)

25 bucks.

Sorry, I've read "console" (but it's "controller"). I was tired :(  Moderator, move this topic if you are reading this.

Well, it's a Playstation 1's power suply schematic I'm looking for (SPCH-7001). I know it's easy to fix, I only need that shematic. But it's very hard to find consoles schematics.

Thanks for the answer anyway ;)

Sony used a bunch of different power supplies, depending on who was cheapest on the day they made 'em. You'd be better off posting the details of the PSU and seeing if anyone has a matching one that they can provide details for.

Well, I knew it's hard to find consoles schematics :(  But I'll give more details, as Aidan sugested.

My console is a PSX (Playtation 1), model SPCH-7001. Its power suply uses 125V AC and there's a number in power suply board: SR679 (maybe it's the model number).

I'm thinking on making a custom power suply (if I can't fix this board). Well the power suply board output has 5 wires: brown, red, orange, yellow and white. So I need to know each wire voltage.

Since all standard chips use the same voltage conventions you can easily find +5v and GND.  There's going to be a reset wire, you can probably track that by eye.  The PS also has an unregulated 8v feed, which you might be able to track by the fuses on the mainboard (the square things with 15 or 20 written on them near the power connector).  That should get you most of the pinout, I think...
