Mario Hotel.

Check it up, it was released on the Phillips CD-i in the mid 90's.

Yeah, except it wasn't released or developed by Nintendo, and the article was showing how Nintendo's changed Mario's appearance.  There's a LOT of other Mario games I didn't cover.
