Post by: MDX on September 01, 2004, 02:52:33 PM
How many PC Engine machines, that

a) were official and
B) played Japanese games out of the box

Did get released? Everyone seems to have a different opinion on the numbers.

Any offers?

ALL PC Engine systems played Japanese PCE games out of the box, if they didn't they'd have a different name, like 'MegaDrive', or '3DO'.

PCE, Core, Core2, GT, LT, LaserActive, Shuttle, SuperGrafx, Duo, DuoR, DuoRX, the PCE Monitor thingus, Sharp X1-Twin.

I think that's it, so a total of 13 PC Engine systems.  All the other bits (CD ROM, Super CD) were add-on modules to the core HuCard playing system, and therefore are accessories, not systems.
