Title: 3rd party DC controller problems
Post by: Darkman on August 24, 2004, 06:35:33 PM
Hello,

I have this Topway controller for Dreamcast that just hates me. It has these useless "Turbo" and "Slow" buttons and that is where the problem is. The Turbo function engages whenever it wants, randomly. I can't turn it off unless I unplug and then plug in the controller at least 3 times very quickly. The function switches are simple pushbuttons, just like the action buttons. Is there a way to disable them effectively? E.g. soldering one of the contacts to Vcc or GND?

P.S. I know that the best solution would be just to go to Lik-Sang and buy a sack of InterAct DC controllers while they are in stock, but this is not an option at this time.

Tie the Turbo and Slow connections to ground.

QuoteTie the Turbo and Slow connections to ground.
Most controllers are active-low, tying these to ground would almost certainly activate them full time.

Really? I thought they were all active high.....if they are active low, then just tie them to positive, or better yet if you can find it to the buttons common (the place where all of the buttons are connected together).
