Title: Changing the Dreamcast LED.
Post by: Seven Force on October 19, 2003, 10:44:36 PM
I really thought it would be simple to change my orange DC LED to a green one, but I something went horribly wrong in the process. The light won't come on at all. :( .

Lawrence, can you help me out here? Please?

You might want to check the LED's polarity.
As you'll notice one of the two pins on it is longer than the other
(and probably has some other mark as well).

Just switch the LED around and it should work okay.

Speaking of SevenForce, you still want that GC mod?  And how about those icons you promised?  Such a tease.

Yes, the polarity is important.  With the DC, it's also important to check that the LED you're buying is bright enough to illuminate that big triangle of plastic.  Try to find one that gives at least 1000 mcd at 3.3v.

I sure do. Since I'll actually have weekends off (and some $$$, of course), I'll make that happen. Soon.

Oh yeah....the icons...I should have a few somewhere..............
