Not sure if they are fixable but I've tried two different versions of these games on two different nomads and they do the same thing...
(Games are Japanese, played via switched megakey cartridge or just whacked in the Nomad...)
Afterburner 2 - Dempa - Refuses to boot
Battle Mania - Vic Tokai - Controls don't work (Pressing mode doesn't work and it works fine on a 6 button pad on a real Megadrive)
Space Harrier 2 - Sega - Refuses to boot
Hang On - Sega - Refuses to boot
Only tried about 150 odd Japanese Megadrive games will try all 380 I have when I can...
Known problems
Phantasy Star - Sega - Refuses to boot (Master System games don't work on a Nomad...)
Forgotten World - Sega - Game over after starting (Hold down "mode" when switching on)
That's why you do region mods. :P
yes, the region mod in the Nomad isn't that hard. Also, check out my post on the Forgotton Worlds topic here...I found a way you CAN play it on a Nomad.
Also, do you really have over 300 MD games? I have about 40 rare ones myself, let me know if you'd be interested in trading or selling any of them. You can find all my games listed at www.GameTZ.com :)

These games just don't work on a Nomad, nothing to do with region locks (as most don't use them....)
This because cartain game on Megadrive use partialy the Z80 CPU. This CPU is not present in Noman, MD3 and MD2. This is an emulation with another cheap chip.

Umm?
Space Harrier II works on my MD2
Yes, it's normal. MD2 had a chip who emulate z80. This chip is similar to origianl Z80. This chip is not present on MD3\Nomad. This is a "fake Z80"
