What It IsThis is a kit that attaches to the coin input on a candy cab, and uses a fake coin to become a credit input button. It can be connected to the existing coin mech wiring, or to a service button, or wherever you'd like. The fake coin can be replaced with a real coin (or token or tiddly wink or whatever). It requires
only two screws (included) to install to most cabs.

Here's a very short video of it in action (https://nfgworld.com/files/FoCoinClicky.mp4).
Kit Contents- The mounting bracket and retainer
- Two fake coins (1 tall, 1 short)*
- Two spacers for fitting different panel thicknesses*
- New Omron switch
- Installation instructions
* Kit contents vary, some cabs have a known installation, some (like Sega's Astro City and NNC/Naomi cabs) have a variable panel thickness. So Sega kits include spacers and two coin sizes, SNK kits do not.
The instructions will also show how to use a 100 yen coin (or similar) if that's the preference.
The Price (USD)
- $10 without switch
- $15 with switch
Please Note! Since the USA is speed-running the
What If Chaos Goblin, But Country!? playbook, I am no longer selling to American customers. Instead, I am graciously accepting donations in return for a surprise gift with a low monetary value that can still be shipped to the US.
The switch is a short-lever switch off of a Seimitsu stick, if you have some lying around. The ones included with this kit are brand new Omron switches.
ShippingFlat rate shipping, for any number of kits. Other countries, please ask.
- USA/Canada $14
- Europe $17
- Australia $10 AUD
CompatibilityThere are two mounting styles, which refer to the orientation of the switch terminals. The default
end mount fits the tight SNK cab and the more roomy Sega and Namco cabs, but if your cab hasn't got room at the narrow ends of the slot, go for the side mount kit.
This does not change how the kit connects to the panel, just where the wires connect. The kit has so far been
tested with:- Sega & Namco
- New Astro City
- Naomi Universal
- New Net City
- Cyber Lead
- And others using the 12 x 38mm screw spacing
- SNK Super Neo 29 Candy
- Taito
- Vewlix (and Chewlix)
- Egret 2
- And others using the 42mm spacing
Note: The Taito versions are complete and en route to buyers but have not been tested (as of Aug 09 '25). A Jaleco Pony 28 version is planned.
Sizing:
Sega/Namco coin slots are 38x12mm screw spacing. SNK cabs are 39x12mm. Taito cabs are 42mm. If your cab doesn't match this then a custom mount can be created - message me!

Requirements
- A small amount of space beside the coin slot under the panel, to allow for the connectors. On the Sega and Namco cabs this is easy. On the SNK it's a tight fit and the terminals will need bending.
- Remove any funnels or chutes under the panel, as this kit will occupy the same space. On the SNK, Namco and Sega cabs this is usually two screws, and it's easily reinstalled.
- Connect the kit to your cab. The switch has standard .187 blade connectors, same as most coin mechs and fast-on joysticks.
Coin Colours
- Sega Sky Blue
- Namco Cyber Purple
- SNK Adjective Red
- Inauthentic Gold
- Egret Pink
- Egret Green
- Cool Orange
- Nice Yellow
- White
- Black
Some of these colours match their cabs very well (the purple is astonishingly close to the original Cyber Lead purple) but since I don't have an Egret to compare, it might be more wishful thinking than accurate match. The colour of the mechanism under the base may match the coin, or it may not. Since it's unseen I don't think it matters, but if you have a preference please specify when ordering.
