Hi guys !
I'm the proud owner of a Sharp X68000 model CZ-600C. My machine has 1 MB of base memory, and I have an additional 1 MB expansion (a reproduction of the original board).
I bought two memory boards with +8 MB here: https://www.polykubos.fr/en/vintage-computers/1-x68000-sram-midi-board.html (https://www.polykubos.fr/en/vintage-computers/1-x68000-sram-midi-board.html), and you can configure the DIP switches to add up to 10 MB (8 MB on board 1 and 2 MB on board 2) for a total of 12 Mb
My question is: is it possible to go beyond 12 MB on the CZ-600C (or the ACE/ACEHD, etc...)? Technically, with these two boards, I should be able to get 16 MB + 2 MB, but perhaps there is an "hardware limitation"
Thanks!

X68000's memory map is hardwired to 0x000000-0xBFFFFE for RAM which is exactly 12MB so you can't go any higher than that unless it's a X68030. Not sure what you would need more RAM for on this though
Hi BlackVega;
Thanks for the reply , I'm thinking about upgrading the CPU through a kit sold on Yahoo!Auction .
20MHz MC68HC000FN20
But as this is still a x68000 (and not X68030) I guess it will not change anything :)
I'm not familiar with Polykubos RAM+MIDI, does anyone know if it works well with Mahou Daisakusen and After Burner games using MIDI sound?
Hi Spectreman ,
It works perfectly with any games using midi . I have tested it with Akumajo, twinbee, after burner .
Not with Mahou Daisakusen , but I can do it on Monday if you want . this game seems to be very good !
Hi Mr Spectre,
Sorry I was in travel last week . I tested this day and Mahou is perfectly working (as ParodiusDa!, Daimakaimura and aku :) ) with Polykubos card :)
Don't hesitate if you want me to test other things .
