Title: Seibu SPI Board Support
Post by: NFG on January 24, 2025, 04:49:27 PM
Seibu's SPI boards (Raiden Fighters, Viper: Phase 1, etc) are notorious for dying when the PCBs are flexed.  The solder joints on the IC legs fail and the board dies, irreparably on occasion.

So I created this support structure to go under the PCB and prevent flex when game cartridges are swapped.  There are two models, one 15mm high with small pegs that slot into the board, preventing push flex when carts are installed.  The other, which comes in a 15mm and 20mm height, is screwed into place and prevents both pull and push flex.

The one that screws into place requires 4 x M2 threaded sockets and matching screws (10-12mm).
