TLDR version, it's estimated that 5 billion people on the planet use the Internet for some purpose and nearly 50 percent of them use social media. 20 years ago before there was any social media at all, there were only about 1 billion Internet users and maybe just shy of 90 million used web forums like GamesX, AssemblerGames and the like. The world has changed a lot in two decades, but weirdly the behaviors have not at all.

haha, yes sometimes I feel old. but I love this hobby so much and I'm so grateful to GameSX for getting me deeper into it. So glad these forums are around still! (forums for life hereee)

P.S. I miss AssemblerGames! sad ObscureGamers didn't last all that long. Sega-16 forums are back though! and SMS-Power has always been going pretty strong :)
