Title: The 3D Printing Board!
Post by: NFG on January 13, 2024, 09:22:02 AM
I've recently been diving into 3D printing, and creating all manner of useful plastic wotsits to customize or repair my stuff.

I'd like this board to be a place for dropping your own designs, or useful designs you've found around the internet.

The Rules:
That's it for now.  We'll see how this plays out.

May I add one last guideline? Whether you're sharing original work or someone else's existing model, STL files are broadly compatible across multiple types of printers. So if you're able, it's probably best to specify the medium for printing. Many sturdy case components and moving parts are probably going to be filament, but detailed logo or texture items might be better suited as resin. This is by way of saying that printing in one medium when you need the other could produce a less-than-ideal result.
