PS2 with HDD adaptor : is it possible to transfer an entire PS2 game on HDD without a modchip ?
Like XBox system for example.
But the XBox example needs a modchip. :(
Check on some console hacker forums (sorry, none immediately spring to mind); you may be crossing into dangerous waters around here.
Non is't not for hacking but for dev.
On XBox games boot without a modchip. When a dash (evolution X for example) is installed with 007 exploit you do not need to have modchip.
heres a better question: Can this even be done WITH a mod chip?
Yes that can be done. But I do not want install modchip. I want to make dev not hacking. I need a solution to load homebrew code from the hard disk.
Dr Wily to be honest, while you're doing the actual coding, I'd suggest using a chipped machine as it's a lot easier in the long run. Then when you want to test the thing, transfer your HD to an unchipped machine.
That hdloader that was recently released can do what you want without a modchip....however since no copies have yet been received some are questioning if it is real.Wait and see I guess.....I'd still recommend a modchip,as most likely the hdloader will be limited in some way, better to use both in tandem. There will most likely be a homebrew version of hddloader anyway as the code for it has already been developed,it just won't work without a modchip. But it'll be free :)
it is supposed to be available in a few days here:

hmmmm......wish they had a hard drive compatibility list. I don't really want to get the sony brand hard drive right now.
Yes HD Advance work fine ! Thank
