Hey all,
I have a SNS-001 from a buddy of mine that won't turn on. It's the older model w/ the SHVC daughter board.
It powers on, but does not display any video. Depending on the game, after a few seconds of power you will hear a random blip of sound appropriate for that game. For Mario World, you might get a bit of a yoshi sound.
Games being tested work fine on other systems.
Otherwise, nothing - screen goes black and nothing further.
So far:
I've cleaned and reflowed and problem areas.
Cap-kit installed - all electrolytic caps on board and daughterboard replaced.
Next:
I'm thinking about reflowing the CPU / PPU chips.
Any thoughts?
