Title: Where would I find a sega genesis 2 style output connector?
Post by: laggerific on May 24, 2015, 09:29:43 AM
I am working on an RGB mod, and I have a spare genesis 2 to SCART cable, and thought that it would work well, but not sure where to locate the output connector for it to plug into.

Any help here would be awesome.  Thank you!

The 9-pin mini-DIN is a standard connector, you should be able to find it in the usual places (ie: anywhere that sells such things).

Thanks! The parts are not as easy to find as I was hoping, considering it's a standard design.

If it is an 8-pin Mini-DIN connector, Digi-Key has lots of them.  A general one they have to make cables with is a CUI Inc MD-80.  Hope that makes your search easier.

heres 2 options from ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MD-Housing-Female-DIN-9-Mini-Pin-S-video-Adapter-Sockets-QTY-1-/281221562487
http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-pin-Mini-Din-Female-Chassis-Mount-Connector-Philmore-EMS9-/331551473034

the shipping on the panel mount one though is a bit ridiculous.  Can probably find it cheaper somewhere else.
