Title: Any guide for GOVERHD?
Post by: H68k on January 06, 2015, 05:35:24 AM
Does anyone know how to use the GOVERHD utility?

What little documentation it comes with does not make much sense to me.

Thank you Eidis..

So after reading the guide and having a quick go with XM6g.. All GOVERHD does is make two 'virtual' SCSI drives out of the two partitions on the same SCSI drive?

No. It updates SCHDISK (SCSI hard disk driver) and MENUIPL (boot menu). Both of them reside at the beginning of the hard disk or hard disk image. It also updates both partitions, if they were not created with SxSI. As a result it is possible to access and write data beyond the 1GB barrier without causing data corruption.

Does this mean we can have partitions larger than 1Gb instead of 2 separate partitions?  ???
