Title: Dreamcast servers
Post by: caphynehy on April 21, 2004, 02:51:18 PM
Everybody loves LAN parties, right? It would be awesome to have DC LAN parties. Or what about your own server for DC online games? My question is, how do I do it? I don't have a BBA for my DC, so is there any way I could convert the phone line out on the modem to an ethernet out? Has anyone set up a DC network or server before? And what about the PS2? If I could set up my own DC network, I would totally be willing to shell out the cash for a BBA.

Actually, it has been done. Some group of PSO lovers set up their own Dreamcast PSO server after Sega shut theirs down. They're still working out the bugs, but the damn thing works. I'll see if I can hunt down their website, but it shouldn't be too hard to find if you don't want to wait. It's a good example, anyways.

Would that be Schtack? I've heard about his server (never played it myself for lack of a DC compatible ISP) and I've been to his website. I didn't see anything there about setting up your own server.
