Hey guys, I have used the gamesx diagrams to successfully make my own Genesis controller PCBs (Thanks! And the attached pic is two Genesis controllers and an LM1881 on a chip, I bet you can guess what for). Now that I've figured out Genesis controller multiplexing, I am interested in learning the opposite, demultiplexing so that I can use legit Genesis pads and make adaptors to other consoles or to use on superguns.
I have seen schematics for 6 button pads and that is above my patience and skill level, but I am fine with just 3 button pads. I have tried googling without much luck, a schematic would be awesome if you guys have one handy.

I'd use a small microcontroller, PIC or AVR, and write some simple fast assembly code that basically just reads the multiplexed data while toggling the data select input.
