Hello everybody !
Last night i ve tested something interesting : to plug a Slg3000 on my X68000 compact.
What is slg3000 ? : A scanlines generator (like a 15 khz monitor)
http://arcadeforge.net/SLG3000/Scanline-Generator-SLG3000::12.html (http://arcadeforge.net/SLG3000/Scanline-Generator-SLG3000::12.html)
So now i ve beautiful scanlines on my Vga CRT ( you can adjust scanlines density with the side plot).
Very happy to find this...
Hy Gypsie !
This looks perfect for the SEGA Dreamcast. Does it support all three X68000 modes (15kHz, 24kHz, 31kHz) ?
Keep the scene alive !

If i'm not mistaken, SLG adds scan lines to a VGA signal. And that's it.
As VGA is 31khz..
X68000 output looks more like CGA (15/24/31)
You'd need a converter like GBS-8220 (has anyone tested it especially frequency switch?) or XPC-4 before adding SLG.
Wonder how the GBS-8220/SLG couple would behave on a x68000.
GBS is dirt cheap compared to XPC-4.
It's working only for 31 khz mode . The best games are 31 khz compatible (final fight,Ghouls and ghost, strider etc...), so slg is very good.

not bad you can get a Mini SLG from craftymech for a fraction of the cost.
another alternative http://craftymech.com/
as long as you run 640x480 or 1024x768 resolutions

Yup Ope. Mine just arrived today and it works well with the XPC-4. Just twiddling my thumbs now till my x68k arrives later this week.
Nice and compact and the price is right.
This thread reminded me that I wanted to test my Hanzo Dreamcast VGA/Scanliner box in VGA mode with the X68k. I swapped out the input cable on the Hanzo for a VGA input and once I remembered that it only supports 640x480 and 1024x768, it worked like a champ. Really brings the picture on an LCD back to what it should look like.
I tested it with both 15 and 31khz inputs into an XPC-4 and it handled them just fine. Mode switches didn't cause any issues either, but I didn't suspect they would.
