Title: Sega CD RGB output
Post by: GameEnthiusiast on April 08, 2004, 02:40:03 PM
well i need some basic help. as suggested on some of the other posts, i decided to look around on google, and gamesx.com before asking questions.

well to start off, i want to take the rgb signal from my Sega Genesis CDX and display it to my monitor.

to start off i checked out
http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm (http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm)

this told me about the a/v output. the CDX uses the same as the genesis2 model.
but from this part i did not know what to do with it. so i went to google

from there i found this rahter useful site
http://www.billnkaz.demon.co.uk/segalist.htm (http://www.billnkaz.demon.co.uk/segalist.htm)

this shows how to set up the genesis up to the monitor. this was useful, except for 2 things.

this 1st being that it was only for the genesis 1 model, but from the a/v pinout diagram at gamesx.com.... its not a problem to adapt the diagram.

the  other problem is the monitor hook up. it show a montor with a 9 pin input. the monitor i have(a Daewoo CMC 1502b1) has a 15 pin input. so i am here. i need help on where to put the wires into the monitor. i havent started yet, in case some of the info is incorrect, and look to you for help.

please help.

Don't automatically assume hes talking vga. My applecolor RGB monitor uses a db-15 also. I guess the question to ask is, what monitor do you have?

Correct, that is the question--but he already knows the answer.

Quotethe monitor i have(a Daewoo CMC 1502b1)

We don't know the pinout of that monitor. You'll need to contact Daewoo, look through their website, or if all else fails locate a manual for your monitor. It should have this information in it.
