Title: make a genesis 3 work with sega CD

hey im new here and i just wanted to know if it was possible to make the newer compact genesis 3 work the sega CD. i know that they are incompatible stock but with a little help of a soldering iron im sure it could be done.

This is a question I've wanted to answer myself for a while, but...  My guess is that while it MAY be possible you're never going to figure it out on your own because of the integration Sega's performed.  The chipset is radically reduced, which makes the job of finding the proper signals more difficult if not impossible.

I guess you could wire up your own loom if you could find the right pins to attach to, but for all the hard work you could buy an old MegaDrive for a fiver instead. Plus the hardware would look really funny, which may actually be kind of cool. I'm guessing it doesn't have an EXT port then.
Which reminds me, I really must get my hands on a Mega-CD 1 so I can box away the littler that is the MCD2.
