Title: Help with a PC 5.25" Floppy drive
Post by: RetroRepair on March 30, 2014, 10:00:24 PM
Ok so this keeps getting more and more frustrating  ::)

I bought a Fujitsu 1.2mb drive off ebay (M2553B 11C) which is supposedly tested and working. I set it up in the BIOS as a 1.2mb drive and I can't get it to do anything. The seek light never lights up and the drive is constantly spinning.

The cable is fine as my 3.5" drives work fine on it, so what's wrong here? Is the drive just faulty? There's jumper settings under the drive but I can't find any reference anywhere as to how they should be set up. There's only one jumper on the 10 posts.

Any ideas before I give up on this thing forever?

It could be faulty. Are you sure about the cable and his right insertion/way?Have you set the correct ID for the drive according to  your cable (straight or twisted one)?

Yeah I think it's just faulty, I've tried every configuration I can think of and it still won't work.

Oh well, I tried  :'(
