Title: Hello! and any info on this? x68k bootlogo?
Post by: Simongj on December 25, 2013, 12:14:43 PM
Hi guys! I just had to register here since i finally got myself an x68000! Have been wanting one for some time now, so  i got an Expert HD for a good? price, 250usd. With restored powersupply and internal battery changed! Anyways, i found this on google while randomly searching the different models. It appears to be a boot screen based on the 'X' logo. Has anyone seen this before?

I'm gonna guess and say that's just an image on the screen. There's lots to be had in the old formats(PIC, MAG, etc) and even BMP, JPG and PNG are supported.

Hello and welcome :)

Check the autoexec.bat or maybe config.sys for a command line loading a picture. It should be close to the beginning of the file.

Nice price for a nice machine :)
Monitor included?

Yes, may be just an image, i can't check since it isn't my system. Would be cool to have though, maybe the guy made it himself.

Didn't get a monitor with it, i don't like the thought of shipping a CRT monitor all the way from Japan  :)
I chopped up a VGA cable, matched the pinout and just shoved it in while waiting for an adapter!

I'd like to put up a boot logo like this, so when you get the chance to look at it, keep us informed, thanks :)

I haven't seen anything like it in the archives. Maybe it's an SRAM program?

Unfortunately, if that's the case, you're going to need your SRAM space for SxSI.
