Title: Really quick question about opening up an X68K.
Post by: efs on April 23, 2013, 05:02:01 AM
In removing the back screws in order to slide out the side panels to the system, do I have to use one of those special JIS screwdrivers to prevent stripping, or does a Philips head screwdriver suffice? I haven't found any specification on which kind I should use; I wouldn't want to damage any part of the system, including its screws.

Let me know,

I've always just used a standard Phillips head.

If you're stripping screws because you're using a slightly wrong bit, your problems probably aren't related to the bit.  More important is the right size.  If it doesn't seat securely and feel solid, it's the wrong size.  That's when you need to be careful with your technique.
