Title: Sega CDX with 32X (Homemade) Spacer
Post by: Waterbury on September 27, 2011, 07:04:09 AM
I know the Sega CDX and the 32x are compatible, and there was going to be a special spacer for the two that was never released. My question is, does anybody know where I could find pics of this spacer, and if anybody has ever tried making a homemade spacer? I'd like to try to make one, mainly for aesthetics.

P.S. I know at least ONE diagram of the spacer exist, as I remember the 32x setup pamphlet referencing it, and showing a mock up photo....along with ANOTHER pamphlet warning not to use the two together.  ;D

OK. I found the pictures I were looking for. Oh Sega, you so silly. The hackerspace I belong to has a 3D printer, and a laser etcher. I wonder if I could make one. I wonder if that spacer was supposed to have any kind of cartridge connector extender in it. I remember when I hooked up a 32x to the CDX in the past, I could only partially open the CD lid, but I think that is what is being emphasized in the second logo.
