 Hello! I have recently aquired an xrgb-2 and have re-wired my GC euro rgb scart cable to jap rgb, get a great image, but its pretty dark. to get round this I have the brighness and gamma maxed. - This tends to result in a rather washed out image. I can flick the switch on the front f the unit away from RGB to STD but it's not as sharp (not RGB im presuming) so have I wired the cable wrong or is this a problem with RGB and the XRGB unit?
Thanks for any help in advance ;)

RGB PCB is for arcade PCBs, it darkens the video a LOT. You should use the other setting (STD) for consoles, and then turn the brightness and gamma back down.
 oh ok ! cheers bruv thanks for your help.
on a side note, I'd like to let any pal users who care know that the xrgb 2 unit works perfectly with all pal 50hz and pal60hz games
:D
It should be noted that a lot of VGA monitors, especially the LCD kind, do not work under 60Hz, so PAL games @ 50Hz won't work (and neither will oddball PCBs like Seibu's SPI (Raiden Fighters series) @ 54Hz). Most tubes should work - buy with confidence.
