Title: [SEGA CD] Does the mixing input is designed to a headphone or a lineout ouput?
Post by: localheureux on June 04, 2010, 01:09:58 AM
Hi all,

I'm trying to find a way to build a real/good  audio lineout (stereo) for my Megadrive 1, but i'm asking something to myself...

The mixing input of the Sega CD is specifically designed to the headphone output of the MD1 or is it designed for an " audio lineout" ?
Cos these two kinds are very differents, one (headphone) is pre-amplified and not the other.

What's happen if we connect a lineout to the mixing input of the Sega CD?
Does it necessary to modify the mixing input?

Thanks.

There's no real difference between a headphone port and a line-out port, except the volume of the sound.  As a rule, if there's no volume control, it's line-level (since no one makes headphone ports without volume controls =)
