Title: Modified "chipped" PAL Gamecube and 480p / VGA query
Post by: Frazchops on February 16, 2010, 08:30:07 AM
Hi

Just wondering if anyone can help me out with this before I go and waste (more) time and money on something I gave upon a few years ago!
I have a Pal Gamecube with a Qoob modchip fitted this among other things lets me force progressive scan on European games...

My question is can I use a sync seperator and the rgb lines from the 'standard' Nintendo Av port to connect to a vga monitor, I
think it should work but then again I could be missing something incredibly obvious!

Any help would be greatly appreciated ::)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you need the component cables for that, and your GC needs the digital out port.

There's a chip inside the Progressive Scan cables that enables 480p. Without it you can't get 480p out of any Cube, regardless of region.
