Hi there,
anyone can tell me if the PIO-6BE4-4M ram expansion works with the XVI model?
Luca
Hi. :D
It works in XVI.
But the access speed always becomes 10MHz.

Thank you for the information. At this point, how to expand the XVI in 16MHz mode? Is there an XVI standard expansion?
The memory which you installed to a rear slot always works at 10MHz.
If you install CZ-6BE2A(2MB) to an exclusive slot, the memory works at 16MHz.
CZ-6BE2A

Because CZ-6BE2B(2MB) is installed in this CZ-6BE2A, it is expanded 4MB.
There is the compatible memory called XSIMM-IV, too.

Thank you. One last question: the obtained 4 MB of RAM are sufficient for playing games like Super Street Fighter II and Fatal Fury Special?
hi all,i play fatal fury special in my X68000 CZ-600C with 2 meg,in the box of fatal fury special says:x68000,VXI,x68030,2mb memory,13mb memory, about super street fighter i dont know sorry i dont have this game but i think is neded XVI.
The software of most X68000 works at 2MB.
The software how 4MB are necessary for to work is only "Super Street Fighter II ", "Fatal Fury( 2 players cooperation mode)".
Certain games also have far improved PCM sound if you have 4MB+. For example, Nemesis '90 Kai works in 4 voice PCM mode if you have more then 4MB of RAM.
I have purcheased the CZ-6BE2A for my XVI. Now, the problem is the installation. I'm totally noob in computer mounting and I don't know where the piece must be placed. Anyone can help me with some pictures or some info?
is really easy, just in the back of your computer have 2 ports I/O in my case one for midi and other for ram...,just insert ram in one port and use swich x..."insert human 68 and use command "swicht"i think this is correct but sure other members of this forum can explain this better...

It sounds strange. The CZ-6BE2A (http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b105048798 (http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b105048798)) has not the connector like PIO-6BE4 and has a different form. I don't think it can be put in the standard external port.
CZ-6BE2A opens a side cover and installs it in an exclusive slot.

XVI model still has the standard midi port on the back.
