Title: 3rd party PS2 controller problem.
Post by: albino_vulpix on March 13, 2009, 08:59:21 PM
Problem with PS2 controller. Basically, I plug it in, the console doesn't recognise it's plugged in. I can toggle the LED with the analog button though.

It used to work like a charm, but one day it just gave up. I've opened it all up and nothing looks dodgy. Anyone have any ideas on what I could try?

If it's important, it's a PowerWave controller. Australians might know the ones, the ones with the fairly sweet artwork on it.

You have VCC and ground, but somethings out with one of the other lines.

I'd open the controller and check continuity on the wires from the plug to the connector/solder points inside the controller to start with.

Pretty sure the PS2 pinout is the same, someone else can confirm that. But it makes no difference to at least checking the cable for continuity for starters.
