Title: PLEASE READ, tense console modding going on
Post by: zedrein on October 04, 2008, 02:55:16 PM
OK I've got my SNES all cracked open and the insides strewn about. I took out the RF connector cause eventually I'm going to add a SPDIF connector for audio. I've got the main board upside down and can see the 12 connect points from the multi AV, now do I just solder a wire from the Red Green, Blue, sync, and ground pins onto the DB9 adapter? I just wanna' make sure I'm doing this right.

It is here (http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:snes2rgb).

Are you using Lawrences DB9 layout for RGB? You could do that, but you don't need to. If you do it the way that wiki page shows, all you will be doing is connecting it to the socket that already exists in your SNES. That is what I would probably do, because then you don't have to drill into your SNES or mod its casing in any way. You'll just have RGB out that socket, where you once did not. Use any SNES RGB cable after you've done that, and if you really want to use the DB9 you can mod the cable and not your SNES.
