Title: Saturn Switch Mod: Where are the jumpers?
Post by: Blaine on September 04, 2008, 11:07:42 AM
Now, hold on... I've found the location of the jumper pins. I have one that is like type B on the guide. It's an early model US (almond shape power button). I completely disassembled the Saturn expecting to remove a few surface mount 0 ohm resistors and there's nothing there! Nothing on the other side either.

*removed images.... too big*

So my question is... what do I gotta remove? Is this one that I have to cut the traces on? If so, where do I cut?

Whoa... sorry for the monster pics.

Do I cut the traces between the jumpers? If so then I'm back to confused -  I thought that was the common point between the jumpers...

Okay, I think I see where I was confused now.

While I'm at it... as far as the common point between jumpers (say J10 and J11), couldn't you just solder to the side of J10 that is connected to J11. The guide saying "solder a wire to the common point" makes it sound like you some how have to solder in between them.

Then again, I lack the experience and intelligence of your standard modder so... probably just me.

You've got it exactly right:

1. Cut the traces between the existing jumper
2. Solder to any point that's common, whether it's JP10 or JP11 or somewhere else, as long as it's connected you're fine.
