Title: NES Top Loader Pin Header Replacement
Post by: atreyu187 on July 22, 2008, 09:50:56 AM
So I have one of these systems and it needs the pin header replaced and I am not sure if the normal one would work for this and if not does anyone know where one might find one for replacement??

In case it's not clear, the top-loading and front-loading NES units absolutely do not use the same cartridge slot. The front-loader has a spring loaded slot that connects to a card edge on the board. The top-loader has a standard card slot connector that doesn't move around in any way.

Me personally, I question whether or not your diagnosis is accurate. In the absence of more information, I would guess that there are bent or dirty pins. I've never had to replace the cart slot connector on a top loader, and my guess is you probably don't either.
