I've just taken my SMD1 out of the box after not being played for 10 years!! Still got all cables, and tried to get it to work on my tv's and no luck. Power ok to console, but nothing on any tv channel - even with a game in. Any suggestions?
You need to do more troubleshooting. Have you tried other output types? (RF as opposed to straight A/V, or RGB if it's available to you) How about trying different cartridges, or cleaning the existing cartridge slot and edge connectors? Also, when you say 'nothing' on any channel do you mean that the screen is blank indicating signal, or that there's snow which would indicate no power? We need more information, please.
How are you connecting the Mega Drive to the TV? If you're using RF (antenna connector), do you need to tune it in?
