Title: VGA pinout ?
Post by: eastbayarb on May 30, 2008, 10:18:32 AM
I have a db9 to VGA cable that was custom made for me, so I need to take the VGA connector off and put a db15 connector (since most of my other cables have db15 on them) on it. I did a google search but got so many different pinouts.

thanks!

Um...  You know a VGA connactor IS a DB15, right?

Could you be a little more specific about your plans?

VGA is HD15. I have a  db9 to VGA cable, and I need to take off the VGA end of it and put on a DB15 (the Matt Ross style connector that looks like an old sound card/game port or old Mac video) female connector on it.

Yup, that makes more sense.

The larger DB15 connector was never used in any 'official' capacity for video, so your pinout can be whatever you want it to be.
