I am obviously a noob at console modding. I had an idea while I was at work. I have a couple of extra LG VX3200 cellphones laying around. I wanted to know if it was possible to mod the screen lights from the cell phone to 'front' light the GBC. I was also wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a site that I can purchase a new screen cover for my GBC (the stock plastic one is all scratched to heck.)

Do a Google search for the 'Afterburner' frontlight modification. What you're proposing is essentially the same modification with different parts. It's possible, but probably not very practical.
